SLMMF Delegation Departs for International Journalism Training in ...
A 10-member delegation of journalists from the Sri Lanka Muslim Media Forum (SLMMF) departed today to participate in a one-week international training program titled “Sri Lankan New Generation Journalism Training Program”, scheduled to be held from April 20 to 24, 2026, in Ankara, Türkiye. The program is sponsored by Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency (TİKA) and will be conducted by TRT World. The initiative aims to enhance the professional capacity of Sri Lankan journalists, particularly in adapting to emerging trends and challenges in the rapidly evolving media landscape. This opportunity was made possible following a request by SLMMF Founder Patron N. M. Ameen and President MBM Fairooz. The visit was facilitated and arranged by the Ambassador of Türkiye to Sri Lanka, His Excellency Semih Lütfü Turgut. Prior to their departure, the Ambassador met with the selected journalists and conveyed his best wishes for a successful and productive training experience. Commenting on this training program, SLMMF President MBM Fairooz stated that participants were selected through an open application process among forum members, based on established criteria. He expressed sincere appreciation to the Turkish Ambassador His Excellency Semih Lütfü Turgut for his efforts to make this training program possible and TİKA for their generous and timely support.
