Colombo Chief Magistrate Asanga S. Bodaragama ordered today (21) that a youth accused of forging a passport for alleged organised criminal "Keselwatte Dinusha" be remanded until May 6. The order was issued after the Keselwatte Police produced the suspect before the court.Police informed the Magistrate that Keselwatte Dinusha, who was recently arrested in India and repatriated to Sri Lanka, is currently being held under detention orders by the Kompagngna Veediya Divisional Crimes Division. Investigations revealed that the suspect currently in court had allegedly fabricated the fraudulent travel document that allowed the alleged underworld figure to flee the country.Requesting a further extension of the suspect's remand, the Keselwatte Police stated that additional investigations are required to uncover the full extent of the forgery operation. After considering the submissions, the Magistrate ordered the suspect to remain in custody until the next court date.
