X has begun rolling out Grok-powered auto-translate to users all over the world. Posts in any language will now be automatically translated so they can reach readers far beyond their original audience. Product lead Nikita Bier announced the expansion earlier today. He said the translations have improved substantially over the last couple of months and that users who prefer the original text can simply turn the feature off by tapping the gear icon. The same toggle also lets people choose which languages get translated. The feature first went live late last month, but only in the United States. We covered the initial rollout when it started showing up for American users. It didn’t take long for some people to ask for a way to disable it. X added the off switch and has now pushed the update worldwide. Bier credited engineers Yuki Arano, Ray Hotate, and the rest of the team for finishing the project. That said, X is also cooking up other changes. The platform is working on redesigning the Video tab on user profiles. Analyst Aaron Perris posted before-and-after screenshots showing the current layout versus the version in testing. The updated tab looks cleaner and reorganizes how videos appear. Before After Also, it’s worth noting that while this change was spotted on the iOS app, it’ll most likely show up in the Android app and the web when the redesign goes live for everyone. Early reactions were positive. Several people who saw Aaron’s post called it “much better” and noted that X has been making a string of nice little UI tweaks lately. For creators posting in languages other than English, it removes a long-standing barrier and gives their content real global reach. Whether the Grok translations hold up for everyone is something users will figure out soon enough. For now, the feature is rolling out gradually.
