Watch this robot chase wild boars down the streets of Warsaw

Stuff / News / Watch a humanoid robot sprint after wild boars in one of the strangest viral tech moments yet Who knew that the next great war would be fought between swine and bot? Sure, you might have one of the best AI phones in your pocket, but it’s not going to help much if, for example, you encounter a pack of wild boars on the way back from the pub. But don’t worry, Edward Warchoki is here to help. He’s a robot. Read more: Apple AirPods Max 2 update unlocks new features. But there’s a catch Edward (or Edek to his mates), has made quite the splash online, thanks to a video where he’s seen chasing and scaring off a group of rather intimidating wild boars, who sensibly decide that they want no part of him. He – or it – is a humanoid robot that’s constantly getting into shenanigans. According to Edek’s official website, he pulls in over 500 million views a month, doing anything from riding a bus and walking dogs, to attending parties, trying on Rolexes and meeting Eurovision contestants. A veritable influencer, if we’ve ever seen one. Albeit one with a battery life and no heartbeat. Under the influencer sheen, Edek appears to be built on a modern humanoid robotics platform designed for mobility and balance, which explains how confidently it moves through public spaces, rather than staying confined to controlled demos on exhibition stands. As for the boars? Wild boars have been a persistent issue in Warsaw and other parts of Poland for years, Fox Business reports, regularly wandering into residential areas in search of food. Encounters with humans are common enough that they barely raise eyebrows locally, and authorities have carried out annual culls since 2019 to limit the spread of African swine fever, which poses a risk to livestock. With the likes of Edek making the rounds though, they might have to move on for good. Read more: Best iPhone in 2026 ranked from best to worst
