Israeli Police Forcibly Dispersed Anti-War Protest in Tel Aviv
TEL AVIV, Apr 4: Several hundred people gathered at Habima Square in Tel Aviv on Saturday to protest and call for an end to the ongoing war, even as sirens warned of incoming missiles from Iran and Yemen.Under wartime restrictions, public gatherings in Israel are currently limited to 150 people. However, following an appeal, the Supreme Court allowed an interim exception permitting up to 600 demonstrators at Habima Square and 150 at several other locations nationwide.Later in the evening, police declared the demonstration unlawful, saying the crowd exceeded the court-approved limit by hundreds. Officers moved in to disperse the gathering, forcibly removing protesters from the square and arresting at least 17 people.
