The Health Ministry has received two advanced blood plasma exchange machines worth over Rs. 50 million, donated to strengthen treatment services for leptospirosis and blood-related cancer patients in Sri Lanka.The two state-of-the-art Com.Tec MultiProcedural Machines, manufactured in Germany, were donated by Premium International Private Limited and handed over to Minister of Health and Mass Media Dr. Nalinda Jayatissa.The donation was formally made by Director Mahesh Fernando and General Manager Achala Moses of Premium International Private Limited. The machines are primarily used in plasmapheresis therapy and are expected to enhance treatment for a range of conditions including leptospirosis, blood cancers, immune system disorders, snakebite complications, and pre- and post-organ transplant care.Officials said that the equipment will also support critical care for patients awaiting cell transplant procedures, including those suffering from blood cancer and thalassemia.Speaking at the handover, Director Mahesh Fernando said the company aims to contribute to the development of Sri Lanka’s health sector and will continue to provide technical support as the authorized local sales and service agent.
