Walk for Peace : Special traffic plan in Colombo tomorrow
Colombo motorists should prepare for significant traffic diversions tomorrow (28th) as authorities implement a comprehensive traffic management plan for the Walk for Peace programme. The special arrangements will affect multiple key routes across the capital, requiring drivers to plan alternate paths for their daily commute. Several bus stops along the Walk for Peace route will be temporarily relocated to nearby alternative positions. Passengers should check with their regular bus operators for updated boarding points and adjusted schedules. The Colombo Municipal Council has coordinated with public transport authorities to ensure minimal service disruption. Additional buses may be deployed on alternative routes to accommodate increased passenger volumes due to the diversions. Event Timeline and Duration The special traffic arrangements will commence early tomorrow morning, with road closures beginning several hours before the Walk for Peace officially starts. This advance preparation allows organizers to establish proper security protocols and safety barriers along the designated route.
