Your official visit and our meeting demonstrate your commitment to advancing and bringing our relations to a new level.” The meeting was constructive, with the parties discussing all aspects of bilateral co-operation, as well as joint efforts on international platforms. A high level of mutual respect and shared approaches on the most important issues were confirmed.

MINSK, 13 May (BelTA) – Belarus and Sri Lanka intend to work on ensuring trade growth and diversifying the structure of traded goods, Belarusian Minister of Foreign Affairs Maxim Ryzhenkov told journalists following the meeting with Sri Lanka’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Foreign Employment and Tourism Vijitha Herath, BelTA has learned. According to him, the talks were highly constructive and covered all aspects of bilateral cooperation as well as joint work on international platforms. “We aim to work on boosting the growth and product diversification of our trade. To this end, we agreed to hold the next meeting of the Belarus-Sri Lanka commission on trade and economic cooperation later this year,” Maxim Ryzhenkov said. “We reaffirmed the high level of mutual respect and the similarity of our approaches to the most important issues. Belarus and Sri Lanka are ready to continue developing political, economic and humanitarian contacts.” Maxim Ryzhenkov and Vijitha Herath sincerely welcomed the signing of a number of bilateral documents during this visit, including on air travel, education, and healthcare. "At the same time, we will certainly work on preparing a new, more extensive package of agreements, upcoming meetings and events at the high and highest level, which are also included in the joint agenda," Maxim Ryzhenkov added.
