This request was made in the case filed against him for criminal negligence of duty for failing to prevent the Easter Sunday terrorist attacks despite receiving prior intelligence.The order was delivered by a three-member High Court bench led by Priyantha Liyanage.Retired Senior Deputy Inspector General Nandana Munasinghe and Eastern Province Deputy Inspector General Varuna Jayasundara also appeared before the court as defence witnesses for this case.
