Laptops powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon X2 chipsets are starting to hit the market, but Samsung’s Galaxy Book 6 Edge has just leaked with a major change – it’ll no longer be available in a smaller size. New images and data obtained by WinFuture reveal the Galaxy Book 6 Edge, the Snapdragon-powered counterpart to the rest of the Galaxy Book 6 series that went on sale recently. The Galaxy Book 6 Edge is powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon X2 series, with this model in particular using the higher-end Snapdragon X2 Elite X2E-88-100 variant. It packs 18 cores and hits top clock speeds of 4.7GHz, and it will likely be on of the most powerful Snapdragon laptops whenever it hits the market. Other specs include a 61.8 watt-hour battery said to last around 22 hours, two USB 4.0 USB-C ports, a full-size HDMI 2.1 port, a microSD card slot, and a USB 3.2 USB-A port, along with the standard 3.5mm audio jack. Configurations include 16GB RAM/512GB storage and 32GB RAM/1TB storage, with the base model apparently set to cost €2,199 in Europe. One of the most notable changes Samsung is making, though, is the physical size. Gone is the 14-inch screen size, with solely a 16-inch model coming. It’s still an AMOLED panel, always nice to see, but it’s definitely unfortunate that Samsung is going all-in on a massive size. Only the Galaxy Book 6 and Galaxy Book 6 Pro are available in 14-inch options, with Galaxy Book 6 Ultra also offering solely a 16-inch option. Notable, too, is that the 16-inch Edge brings back a number pad to the keyboard, where Samsung’s other big laptops ditched that in favor of top-firing speakers. Noch vor Microsofts neuer Surface-Hardware bringt Samsung mit dem Galaxy Book 6 Edge sein neues High-End-Notebook auf ARM-Basis an den Start. Das ultradünne 16-Zoll-Gerät basiert auf dem neuen Snapdragon X2 Elite und bringt ein AMOLED-Display mit. Eine passive Kühlung des Geräts ist angesichts des leistungsstarken Chips unwahrscheinlich. Samsung bringt das Galaxy Book6 Edge 16" in zwei Speichervarianten auf den Markt. Beim hier beschriebenen Modell ist der Arbeitsspeicher 16 Gigabyte groß, während die SSD eine Kapazität von 512 Gigabyte bietet. Neben dieser Ausgabe ist auch noch eine Version mit 32 GB RAM und einem Terabyte SSD-Kapazität geplant. Tolle ARM-Hardware zu schmerzhaft hohen Preisen Angesichts des von dem deutschen Händler genannten Preis von enormen 2199 Euro für die "Basis"-Ausgabe, dürfte die Top-Version aufgrund der Speicherkrise mindestens 2800 Euro kosten. Wann die Verfügbarkeit des neuen Snapdragon-Notebooks von Samsung gegeben sein soll, wissen wir noch nicht. Zur Ausstattung gehört jedenfalls auch ein 61,8 Wattstunden großer Akku, der eine maximale Laufzeit von bis zu 22 Stunden ermöglichen soll. Das 1,55 Kilogramm schwere und nur 12,3 Millimeter dicke ARM-Notebook von Samsung verfügt außerdem über Support für WiFi 7, Bluetooth 5.4 und läuft mit Windows 11 Home.
