The group said the report laid bare serious failings in Sri Lanka's foreign debt management system, confirming that Treasury officials had been granted unlimited powers during the transition period, allowing national funds to be misappropriated without any supervision. It further alleged that Treasury authorities had deliberately ignored red notices issued by the Central Bank over suspicious transactions, and said the evidence pointed to an internally planned robbery rather than a cyber attack. The collective said it had submitted a series of questions to the Chairman of the COPF on behalf of the public.
