Medihelp expands to Kiribathgoda, returning to its roots with a new ...

Medihelp Hospitals, one of Sri Lanka’s fastest-growing healthcare providers, continues its expansion with the opening of its newest branch in Kiribathgoda, marking a significant milestone in bringing quality, accessible healthcare closer to communities. This latest addition reinforces Medihelp’s commitment to expanding affordable, high-quality healthcare, particularly in underserved areas. Having strengthened its presence across the Colombo and Kalutara districts, the Kiribathgoda branch represents a strategic move into the northern corridor of Colombo, serving a rapidly growing population with increasing healthcare needs.Kiribathgoda, a vibrant commercial and residential hub that has long lacked a comprehensive private healthcare facility, provides an ideal location for this expansion. The new branch offers a full spectrum of services under one roof, including OPD, ETU, channeling, laboratory diagnostics, radiology, ultrasound scans, and echocardiography. Designed with a strong focus on patient comfort and efficiency, the facility delivers a seamless, modern healthcare experience aligned with Medihelp’s patient-centric standards. The facility was recently inaugurated at a ceremony attended by distinguished guests, including the Honourable Dr. Upali Pannilage, Minister of Rural Development, Social Security, and Community Empowerment, and Dr. Sandun Yapa Karunaratna, Chairman of the Kelaniya Pradeshiya Sabha. Members of Medihelp’s Board of Directors, senior management, and invited guests were also present, marking an important milestone in the group’s continued growth. A key highlight of the event was the address by Mr. Leslie Wijesiriwardana, Founder and Chairman of Medihelp Hospitals, who reflected on the organization’s origins. He noted that the Medihelp concept was first established in Kiribathgoda as a diagnostic laboratory in 1979 before relocating to Horana in 1985, making this expansion a meaningful return to its birthplace.“We are proud to open a Medihelp branch in Kiribathgoda, the very place where our journey began,” said Mr. Chandika Wijesiriwardana, Managing Director of Medihelp Hospitals Group. “We believe that quality healthcare should not be limited by geography.
