iOS 26 upgraded one of Apple's best Home Screen widgets in two ways
iOS 26.4 added brand new widgets for the iPhone’s Home Screen, but you might not know that fairly recently, Apple also upgraded its popular Photos widget in two ways. Out of all iPhone Home Screen widgets, Photos undoubtedly is among the most popular options. Plenty of widgets offer valuable utility, like showing your upcoming calendar events. But widgets for the Photos app have a special surprise and delight element that’s hard to match. And in iOS 26, Apple’s Photos widgets gained two new options: Spatial Scenes Full color Spatial Scenes are a new iOS 26 feature that let your photos gain depth so you can pan around and see them react to your movement. It’s a fun parallax effect. The Spatial effect is an especially great feature for your Lock Screen wallpaper. But hidden behind certain Photos widgets you’ll also see the option for a ‘Spatial Scene Effect’ on your Home Screen widget. Additionally, Photos widgets feature a new ‘Always Display in Full Color’ toggle. If you use Clear or Tinted looks for your Home Screen icons, the ‘Full Color’ toggle ensures you’ll still see photos display in their original form. Otherwise, by default the widget shows you a Clear or Tinted version to match the rest of your Home Screen. You can adjust your Photos widgets with these new settings by long-pressing the widget and hitting ‘Edit Widget.’ What are some of your favorite iPhone Home Screen widgets, and do they include Photos?
