[Jakarta, Indonesia, May 14, 2026] The 10th Huawei ICT Competition APAC Finals and Awards Ceremony concluded successfully at the ASEAN Headquarters in Jakarta, Indonesia. This competition was organized by Huawei and co-hosted by ASEAN Foundation, attracting over 8,600 students from 14 countries and regions to participate in the Practice Competition (including the cloud track, network track, computing track) and the Innovation Competition. The 10th Huawei ICT Competition APAC Finals and Awards Ceremony was held at the ASEAN Headquarters (HQ) in Jakarta, Indonesia, with participation from students, educators and government representatives from across the Asia-Pacific region.Organised by Huawei together with the ASEAN Foundation, the competition attracted more than 8,600 students from 14 countries and regions. More than 160 finalists from 13 countries advanced to the regional finals after competing in cloud, computing, network and innovation categories.ASEAN Secretary-General Dr. Kao Kim Hourn, Indonesian government officials, ASEAN Foundation representatives and regional ICT stakeholders attended the event.Dr. Kao Kim Hourn stressed the importance of nurturing digital talent to support ASEAN’s digital transformation goals under the ASEAN Digital Masterplan 2030.The National University of Singapore won the Grand Prize in the Innovation Competition, while teams from the Vietnam Posts and Telecommunications Institute of Technology secured top awards in the Computing and Cloud tracks. Bulacan State University of the Philippines emerged as the winner of the Network Track.Teams from Malaysia, Indonesia, Thailand, Brunei, Japan, Laos, Timor-Leste, Hong Kong SAR and Macao SAR also received awards across the competition categories. Sixteen teams from the region qualified for the global finals scheduled to take place in Shenzhen, China, this June.During the event, Huawei Asia Pacific announced several initiatives related to AI talent development and digital skills training. The company also launched overseas its white paper titled ICT Job Roles and Skills in the Intelligent World, developed jointly with IDC, OpenAtom Foundation and the Global Intelligent Internet of Things Consortium.The report examines emerging ICT job trends, changing industry skill requirements and training pathways linked to artificial intelligence and intelligent technologies. Huawei also announced updates to its ICT Academy curriculum, including new AI-focused courses for universities and training institutions.Over the past nine years, Huawei said its ICT Academy programme in Asia-Pacific has expanded from two institutions in two countries to more than 500 institutions across 18 countries and regions, training more than 160,000 students.
