Die Veröffentlichung dürfte in den ersten Tagen der neuen Woche erfolgen, möglicherweise bereits am heutigen Abend. macOS Tahoe 26.5 und iOS/iPadOS 26.5 bieten Detailverbesserungen, Optimierungen, Fehlerkorrekturen, Behebung neu entdeckter Sicherheitslücken, die Version 26.5 des Web-Browsers Safari und mit der RCS-Verschlüsselung (für den sicheren Austausch von Mitteilungen mit Android-Geräten) auch eine wichtige Neuerung. Bei macOS Sequoia 15.7.7, macOS Sonoma 14.8.7 und iOS/iPadOS 18.7.9 handelt es sich primär um Sicherheitsaktualisierungen, die neu entdeckte Schwachstellen beheben. Für macOS Sequoia 15 und macOS Sonoma 14 wird Safari 26.5 als separates Update erscheinen. macOS Sonoma 14 erhält von Apple nur noch für einige Monate Sicherheitskorrekturen, anschließend endet der Support. macOS Tahoe: Version 26.5 erscheint in dieser Woche für alle Anwender. Darüber hinaus könnten in dieser Woche weitere Softwareaktualisierungen vom kalifornischen Computerpionier zur Verfügung gestellt werden, beispielsweise für die Bürosoftware iWork, Pixelmator, Final Cut Pro, Logic Pro oder die eine oder andere iPhone-/iPad-App. Voraussichtlich im Juni wird der Betatest von macOS Tahoe 26.6, iOS/iPadOS 26.6 & Co. anlaufen, mit einer Fertigstellung wahrscheinlich im Juli. In vier Wochen, zur Entwicklerkonferenz WWDC26, wird Apple bereits macOS 27 präsentieren, mit dem die Unterstützung für Intel-Macs eingestellt wird. Der Betatest von macOS 27.0 startet im Juni, mit der Fertigstellung wie gewohnt im September. Ebenfalls im September wird macOS 26.7 (enthält die wichtigsten Sicherheitskorrekturen aus macOS 27.0) erscheinen. Zum Thema: macOS Sonoma 14 erhält ab Herbst keine Sicherheitskorrekturen mehr.
