Share Tweet A suspect who attempted to shoot and kill “Podi Peti”, the brother of organised criminal “Loku Peti”, has been arrested yesterday (17) by officers of the Police Special Task Force in Ahungalla. The suspect had attempted to murder “Podi Peti” on the 16th by opening fire with a T56-type firearm while he was travelling in a three-wheeler near the Lokanwatta cemetery in Ahungalla. The arrest was made following a complaint received by the Ahungalla Police Station in connection with the incident. Acting on information received by the Police Special Task Force in Ahungalla, the suspect was apprehended last night (17) while hiding at a lodging house in the Hagalla area of Kosgoda. During the arrest, 13 grammes and 760 milligrammes of the drug “ice” were also found in the suspect’s possession. The suspect is a 45-year-old resident of Pitigoda, Kosgoda. Further investigations are being carried out by the Ahungalla Police.
